They said in an official club statement: “Sergino Dest suffered an apparently serious knee injury during Saturday’s training. How long the full-back will be sidelined is still being investigated. It is almost certain that this concerns a longer period.”

Dest has impressed during a loan spell in the Netherlands this season, having been deemed surplus to requirements by La Liga giants Barcelona. He has registered two goals and seven assists, while taking his tally of senior international caps to 33.
