Giraldez joined Barca in 2021 and has since won the league twice, two Queen's Cups and the Champions League as well. The most impressive feat, however, may be be earning 50-straight wins with the club – which was achieved last March.
The Spirit have been in limbo since the end of the NWSL season, without a head coach going into free agency and the majority of the offseason. If Giraldez makes an early switch to the U.S. Capital, it would boost morale of both the players and the club, while also allowing him to add his footprint on the club sooner than later.
WHAT GIRALDEZ SAID
"The only thing I can say about my future is that it won't be in Europe. "It is important not to compete against Barça," he said Monday morning in an official club press conference.
When asked if it was financially driven, he added: "If I only valued money, I would have left sooner. When making a decision, and not only at Barça, I value many more things […] There are things much more important than money."

Giraldez is also responsible for turning Fridolina Rolfo into a fullback with Barca, where she now crafts her trade as the widely considered best left-back in the world.
