Victor Orta has been given a one-game stadium ban after his actions in the tunnel at half-time against Millwall were deemed to be over the top, eventually being charged with improper conduct.
A Director of Football being handed a ban sounds a bit ridiculous, but that’s where we stand at the moment, and if you had to predict any DOF in the EFL was to get a ban, Orta would be near the top of most people’s lists.
The Spaniard is incredibly passionate about his job at Leeds United, but that enthusiasm can work against him and he’s developing a trait that isn’t ideal for someone in such a senior role.

Fans have praised Orta for his passion before, but that emotion can sometimes manifest itself in an unhealthy way.
Obviously, this was evident against Millwall after he was found guilty of using inappropriate language and acting aggressively, but that isn’t the first time we’ve seen such a reaction.
Orta has previously been seen smashing TV monitors in the director’s box at Elland Road celebrating a goal, and while we understand the passion, that hot-headedness isn’t what you really want to see from someone with a very important role at the club.
The former Middlesbrough man’s job can be very tense at times, and if he can’t keep his head in these high-pressure situations then he will continue to garner unwanted publicity and potentially cause further issues down the line.
Orta’s passion is something to be commended, but he has to learn to keep his lid on his emotions, particularly with the FA now taking issue with his behaviour.
